Class of 2016 Inducted into Alumnae Association

Members of the Class of 2016 were formally inducted into the Meredith College Alumnae Association on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Senior Induction Ceremony in Jones Chapel. A variety of guest speakers welcomed them into the Association and shared advice on ways to stay connected to Meredith after graduation. The students listened to words of wisdom from Caitlyn DeBona ’14, Bailey Benge ’16, Hilary Allen ’01, Grace Sugg ’07, Dana Sumner, Emily Tuck ’60, Ashley Henderson ’97, and Claire Sullivan Slaughter ’72. Announcements were also made pertaining to the Class of 2016’s senior class gift and class doll. Jacqueline Lawrence Huber ’78 accepted their doll, Milly Meredith Stokes, into the doll collection. The doll was named in honor of their class’s senior Cornhuskin’ theme, Thomas Meredith, and their two class advisers, Meredith Moore Moody ’10 and Brandon Stokes. After the candlelit induction ceremony led by Alumnae Association president Claire Sullivan Slaughter ’72, the Bathtub Ring led the singing of the Alma Mater. A reception followed in the Science and Math Building Atrium where students could take pictures with the class doll and enjoy refreshments provided by the Office of Alumnae Relations and the Office of Career Planning. It was an exciting evening as the Class of 2016 was warmly welcomed into the Meredith College Alumnae Association. The Senior Induction Ceremony was coordinated by the Office of Alumnae Relations’ spring intern, Madison Junker ’16.
