Happy Holidays from the Office of Admission!
Thank you to all alumnae who helped influence a student’s decision to attend Meredith this year; we enrolled one of the largest classes in Meredith’s 123 year history! Now I’d like to share some updates about the ARMS program and how alumnae have already helped build the Class of 2019.
The Fall Recruitment Focus Week was held October 27-31. There were 68 alumnae who e-mailed 403 prospective students this week. Alumnae encouraged both in-state and out-of-state students to submit their application for admission and visit campus. Thank you to all alumnae who participated in this recruitment effort! If you’d like to help with the Spring Recruitment Focus Week, March 2-6, please complete the online interest form: http://www.meredith.edu/alumnae/alumnae-volunteers. Alumnae will be encouraging admitted students to enroll at Meredith.
During the Fall Recruitment Focus Week, the “Let’s Talk about Strong” coffee chats were held with alumnae and prospective students in Virginia, DC, Maryland, and Charlotte. The goal of these coffee chats is to increase applicants and enrollment in out-of-state areas and Charlotte. These alumnae met with students at various coffee venues to share their Meredith experiences and discuss the application process. Thank you to Cassie Mozingo, Harriett Kinney, Caroline Ashworth, Courtney Griffith, Liz Otey, and Meredith Alexander for hosting these coffee chats. We’re looking forward to trying these again next fall!
Discover Meredith was held on Saturday, November 1. This event was our largest Discover Meredith event to-date! There were 54 students who attended and 20 alumnae who brought students to campus to hear President Jo Allen, alumnae, and current students share their Meredith experiences. Thank you to those alumnae who brought young women to campus to help them discover Meredith!
Interested in becoming an ARMS volunteer or referring a student to Meredith?
*If you know a student who would be a great fit for Meredith College, please refer her online through the “Refer a Student” referral form: http://www.meredith.edu/alumnae/refer-a-student. Her application fee will be waived once she applies.
*If you would like to be involved in the ARMS program, please complete the online interest form: http://www.meredith.edu/alumnae/alumnae-volunteers/.
Lastly, for the past two years I have held a college fair training for interested alumnae during Alumnae Reunion Weekend in May. I will send more details in the spring once the schedule is finalized, but past volunteers and new volunteers are encouraged to attend the training to learn more about their role at a college fair.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the ARMS program. We need your help to recruit another strong class of angels. I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday!
