Meredith College has just launched a multi-year branding campaign called Meredith College Going Strong that will strengthen Meredith’s visibility and reputation as a high-quality academic institution. The campaign launch began on campus August 12, and will continue to roll out through the academic year. The branding campaign, which provides a unifying overall message and design, communicates a promise that Meredith knows its strengths and the strengths of its students.
As part of the brand launch, Meredith students, faculty and staff will be able to pick up brand merchandise, and have a chance to win T-shirts, at Going Strong tour stops. Stop by the Going Strong table August 20-22. Times and locations are as follows:
• Tuesday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Cate Student Center
• Wednesday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Cate Student Center
• Thursday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Belk Dining Hall
The Going Strong tour will also be at the Student Services & Activities Fair in Belk Courtyard from 5 – 7 p.m. and at the Summer Reading Program lecture on Wednesday, Aug. 28 in Jones Auditorium from 6- 7 p.m. Brand merchandise will also be provide to graduate students during their orientation sessions.
Meredith College Going Strong conveys messages of
• academic challenge,
• individualization,
• an environment where it’s safe to take risks – and learn from them,
• a strong tradition of educating women, and
• a passion for teaching all students to discover their strengths and grow stronger.
One example of messaging in keeping with the new brand campaign is this admissions recruitment statement: “At Meredith College, we believe every student has a wealth of natural resources. We’re here to help you find your strengths and make them stronger. Our message is simply this: Wherever you’re going in life, go with your strengths – go strong.”
Branding Campaign to Include Advertising in Variety of Strategic Venues
Another example of Going Strong is the brand video, which can be viewed here.
These messages will be applied in all areas of Meredith College communication, including fundraising and recruitment for undergraduate and graduate programs.
The branding campaign will include advertising in the Research Triangle area, including on broadcast television during local morning newscasts, in The News & Observer, The Triangle Business Journal, and on radio. New Meredith College Going Strong billboards in strategic locations and advertisements in regional magazines are also in the works.
Redesigned meredith.edu
Meredith is launching a fully redesigned website on August 28 to support the Going Strong brand. The new site is built using responsive design, which provides an optimal website experience across devices, including smartphones and tablets.
Other features visitors to new meredith.edu will experience include:
• An increased emphasis on the strength and breadth of Meredith’s academic programs
• Consistent site-wide navigation and
• A comprehensive campus events calendar.
The branding campaign and redesigned website support the goals of the College’s Meredith Forever strategic plan. Learn more at: meredith.edu/strategic-plan.
