What makes a college great?

According to Money Magazine, to parents it’s a school that delivers top-quality education at reasonable cost.  To students, however, a truly terrific college offers a small-community atmosphere as well as professors committed both to teaching–not research–and to giving students lots of individual attention, both in and out of the classroom.  In addition, students say that a great college must provide them with a rich social life, plenty of opportunities to live on campus and ample courses.

If, after reading this, you’re saying to yourself, “wow, that description fits Meredith”, you’d be correct! With a small community-oriented campus and a small professor to student ratio all within one of the most highly desirable cities to live and work in the US, Meredith students truly get the best of many worlds.

Once again, Meredith Alumnae will be hosting a student recruiting day at Meredith on October 13, 2012 called, appropriately, Discover Meredith. For those of you who recruited for this event earlier this year, thank you for making it one of the most successful recruiting events in our history. Our Alumnae Association received numerous “thank yous” from parents and professors alike for creating a truly meaningful event for prospective students to Meredith.

Do you know a a young woman who would thrive at Meredith College? Maybe someone you have told stories about Cornhuskin’, Class Day or other campus traditions. We would like to invite you and that special young woman to join us at a day set aside for alumnae to share Meredith. Highlights of the day include: remarks from President Jo Allen,’80, a student showcase that highlights the student experience, a campus traditions tour and an alumnae and student panel discussion.
