Alumnae Board of Director’s Meeting Updates

Fundraising, enrollment and marketing were the headline topics discussed by our Alumnae Board of Directors during their 2012 kickoff meeting on January 21st.   Members of Meredith’s Board of Directors were present alongside members of Meredith’s Young Alumnae Board.  There was lots of discussion about the upcoming Discover Meredith Event which was hosted January 28th at Meredith College.  The group also talked about the upcoming Inauguration of Dr. Jo Allen scheduled for March 22, 2012.  Alumnae Board President, Elizabeth Dove, ’84, spoke with members of the Young Alumnae Board and said, “We have an extremely engaged Board of Directors this year.  I am sincerely appreciative and delighted with their enthusiasm and ideas around how our Association can increase class giving percentages within an overall alumnae engagement strategy”.  The Board of Directors set the lofty goal of raising the overall alumnae giving percentage to 23% over the next 24 months. With March Madness finally here, they are all hoping that the calling campaigns will increase our current giving levels significantly.  “Meredith absolutely has one of the most dedicated and loyal alumnae bodies of any school out there.  We just need to turn that loyalty into fundraising dollars for the college.  This is an amazing time to be an alumna of Meredith.  With our second female President on board, and nation leading education opportunities for our students, I’ve never been prouder of our alma mater,” said Elizabeth.  One of the members of the Young Alumnae Board, Margo Alfieri, ’11 said that she really enjoyed seeing such strong leadership in action, “Attending the Alumnae Association’s board meeting was a great experience. It was neat seeing these leaders work together as they coordinated and planned for future alumnae involvement.  During this meeting we learned that the stakes are very high for Meredith Mayhem this year. The grand prize for the class with the highest participation towards The Meredith Fund is dinner with our new president, Dr. Jo Allen. This is a wonderful incentive for alumnae to give back to Meredith College and I hope it generates high levels of involvement.”
